How missions, points, ranks and payments work on UmmahArmy, in plain words.

General
What is UmmahArmy?
A place where Muslim organizations post work, called missions, and skilled Muslims, called Soldiers, do it. The person who posts for an organization is its Ameer. Soldiers earn UmmahPoints and rank for approved work.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or over with an UmmahPass account. Soldiers join as individuals. Ameers join on behalf of an organization, such as a masjid, a charity, a school or a Muslim business.
What is UmmahPass?
The one account you use across Ummah Media Group sites. You sign in to UmmahArmy with it, and the same account works on UmmahSocial, UmmahPlaces and the rest.

How do I get paid?
Volunteer missions pay in UmmahPoints.
The Ameer pays for a paid mission by card. One payment can cover the whole mission, from $5. On a paid mission of $100 or more, the Ameer can instead split the amount into milestones when they approve your claim. The Ameer pays for each milestone by card. You can deliver a milestone only after the Ameer has paid for it.
When the Ameer approves it, UmmahArmy adds your 80% share to your earnings. If the Ameer does not review it, UmmahArmy approves it 14 days after you deliver. A revision request or a dispute stops that count. Before approval, a dispute can end in a refund to the Ameer.
New earnings show as Clearing for 7 days, then as Available.
Until the Ameer pays, UmmahArmy has taken no payment for that mission.
You can ask for a withdrawal of your Available balance from your Earnings page.
What are UmmahPoints?
Points you earn for approved missions and Social Boost campaigns. They count toward your rank, and you can spend them on the Rewards page. They have no cash value.
How do ranks work?
Everyone starts as a Talib. You move up when you reach both the points and the approved missions for the next rank.

What happens if my work is rejected?
A rejection adds 1 strike. A 1-star rating adds 1 strike, and a 2-star rating adds half a strike.
- 3 strikes: a 30-day suspension
- 5 strikes: a permanent ban
A mission approved automatically, without a review, never adds a strike.
What is Social Boost?
A short campaign where an Ameer asks Soldiers to engage with a post, for example to like, comment or share it. The Ameer sets a window of 15 to 60 minutes, and you earn UmmahPoints for taking part in time.

How do I post a mission?
Sign in, open your Ameer dashboard and create a mission. Add a title, what you need done, the skills it takes, how many Soldiers you need, a deadline, and whether it earns points or is paid.
What does it cost?
Volunteer missions are free to post.
Paid missions carry a 20% platform fee, taken from what the Soldier earns. You pay the mission amount and no fee on top: on a $100 mission, the Soldier's share is $80.
Masjids, charities and schools also receive 500 UmmahPoints each month to reward volunteers, based on the organization type you chose.
How do I pay for a paid mission?
You can pay for the whole mission in one payment, from $5. On a mission of $100 or more, you can instead split the amount into 2 to 5 milestones when you approve a Soldier's claim. Each must be at least $50. Together they must equal the mission amount.
You pay for a milestone by card. Your card is charged at that moment. The payment goes to UmmahArmy, not straight to the Soldier.
When the Soldier delivers a milestone, you can approve it or ask for a revision. If you do neither within 14 days, UmmahArmy approves it. You can also open a dispute.
How long do I have to review work?
14 days. After that, the work is approved automatically so the Soldier is not left waiting. An automatic approval carries no star rating, because nobody rated it.
Can I cancel a mission?
Yes, while it is still open or a draft. Once a Soldier has deployed on it, it can no longer be cancelled.
Payments and disputes
How is my card handled?
Card details go straight to Stripe, our payment processor. UmmahArmy never sees or stores your card number.
When you pay, your card is charged and UmmahArmy receives the payment. We record the Soldier's share as earnings when the work is approved. We do not keep payments in a separate trust or escrow account.
Can I cancel a milestone or get a refund?
Either side can cancel a milestone that has not been paid for. No payment was taken.
The Soldier can cancel a paid milestone before delivering it. UmmahArmy then refunds the full amount to the card.
An Ameer who wants a refund on a paid milestone asks the Soldier to cancel it, or opens a dispute.
What if there is a disagreement over a mission?
Either side can open a dispute on a paid milestone before it is approved. You can talk it through first. Either side can ask our team to decide at any time.
Our team reads both sides and chooses one of three outcomes: pay the Soldier, refund the Ameer in full, or refund part. A dispute ends only when our team decides it.

Is there a fee on tips?
No. After an Offer order is complete, the buyer can leave a tip. UmmahArmy takes no fee on a tip. Stripe takes its card fee out of the tip, and UmmahArmy adds what is left to the Soldier's earnings. After a paid mission is approved, the Ameer can leave a tip the same way.
